Fashion Predictions for Fall 2023

Happy Friday lovelies! My, doesn't it feel like August is just flying by? School is starting back and we are all adapting to new routines. Summer is officially winding down, and do you know what that means? Fall is coming! It will be here before we know it and I can't wait! Fall is my favorite season - from the foliage to the fashion to the spiced cider and all of the things in between. With Fall being right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share our Fruit of the Vine fashion predictions for the upcoming fashion season. Let's talk all things trendy and what you can expect to see this Fall.

1. Unexpected Colors

I think we can all agree that Fall is associated with a well-established color palette. As the leaves begin to turn, we typically see neutrals and shades of olive green, mustard yellow, burnt orange, and even burgundy begin to dominate the color palette of our wardrobes. However this fall, we predict that unexpected colors will be all the rage! While at Atlanta Apparel market back in April, we saw previews of many Fall collections and were pleasantly surprised. In addition to the typical Fall shades, we saw emerald green, royal purple, lilac, blue, and pink. Colors that we often see in Summer collections were abundant in the Fall collections. Our Reina 3/4 Sleeve Crochet Sweater that we rolled out last week was a perfect example and it was a HOT commodity! Available in both bright orange and lavender, it sold out within the first week, which lets us know that our Vine Shoppers are fully embracing the new color trend. Just in this week, our Blue Ruffle Neck Poplin Top is another great example of an unexpected Fall hue. The periwinkle coloration is so flattering on while the neckline and sleeve detailing add a feminine yet sophisticated flair that you'll love! This piece is perfect for transitioning into the Fall. These pieces are just a glimpse of the pops of color you can anticipate for this Fall!

 2. Cozy & Chic Knits

Crochet and open-knit designs are BACK! Creating a cozy, everyday, and well-loved look, these knits are practical and timeless. We have been getting in a ton of new arrivals featuring beautiful knit patterns that are very wearable. We are dropping these new arrivals weekly so be on the lookout. To be the first to know, subscribe to our email chain here for exclusive insights! Though this new arrival is on the minimal side, its luxe, cloud-like fabrication perfectly embodies the cozy trend. Our Caroline Top in taupe will be your new wear-on-repeat-favorite this Fall. The mock neckline and poncho design with side slit detail make this top ultra-flattering. This top can be worn on its own during the transition into Fall, but when temperatures cool down, it can be easily layered over a button down or long sleeve white button down.

3. Flares

From sleeves to pant legs, the flared trend of the 70s and 80s is back and better than ever! Our High Rise Slit Flare Jeans from last season have been well-loved by our Vine Shoppers, but this new arrival has an elevated design. These Flared Button Jeans from Charlie B are our latest obsession! We love the comfortable elasticized waistband and adorable front sailor button detail. These pants embody the trend while still checking all the boxes of your jean requirements. They are stretchy yet shaping, keeping you sculpted AND comfortable all day! They have a 31" inseam, meaning that they won't drag the floor if you don't wear a heeled shoe. Wear these jeans with your top tucked in the front to let those button details shine!

4. Artful Prints

Beyond basic stripes and dots, artful prints will be everywhere this Fall. We anticipate a lot of bohemian prints, color block, animal prints, modern waves, and two-tones for the upcoming fashion season. This piece just dropped this week and we have all the heart eyes for it! Our Boho Print Puff Sleeve Top embodies this artful print trend well! Featuring a beautiful blue boho print and contrasting cream boho print on the sleeves, this top is as unique as you are. We love the puff sleeve with ruffle trim and cinched mock neck that gives a look of sophistication. This top is perfect for the transition into Fall!

5. Beaded Accessories

Seed beaded jewelry has been trending for a few seasons now, but this season, we're seeing the trend in all kinds of accessories. Our new pieces from Ink & Alloy are some of my favorite products within this chain. From beaded earrings to beaded claw clips to beaded key rings, these pieces are handcrafted and oh-so cute! Another new line that I am loving is our line of necklaces fro Erin McDermott. These stunning necklaces combine seed beads, glass beads, and gemstone beads for a one-of-a-kind look that is sure to attract compliments. The Strolling Through Provence Necklace pictured above boasts beautiful gemstones in muted colors that still add a pop without being overwhelming. Shop the full line of Erin McDermott necklaces here

6. Fringe, Fuzz, and Feathers - Oh My!

Yep, you read that right. Fringe, fuzz, and feathers are going to be all over this season's designs! From fringe trimmed cardigan pockets to feather lined sleeves to fuzzy plush knit sweaters, this fall is all about introducing gorgeous texture to beloved styles in fun, innovative ways! We have so many stunning pieces featuring details just like this that we'll be releasing every week, so stay tuned! (And yes, this is absolutely a teaser!)
And that's a wrap! Those are the 6 main predictions that we have for the Fall 2023 fashion season! You can count on Fruit of the Vine Boutique to shop the latest trends and keep you looking and feeling beautiful!

Madilyn  💜
