Why we Love Anchor Beads - In May 2014, Amber Godwin's daughter, Georgia, was diagnosed with Leukemia.  In the summer of 2015, she and Amber began making jewelry for fun.  This led Amber to creating necklaces to sell as a hobby, while she donates a portion of the proceeds to childhood cancer research.  When Georgia was hospitalized in the PICU before Thanksgiving and was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive secondary HLH Syndrome, Amber's hobby became her therapy while Georgia was on life support.  Amber longed for her to wake up so Georgia could see how the popularity of "Anchor Beads" had spread from friends, family, nurses, doctors and strangers!  Amber knew this would be something Georgia would love helping her do, as they were told Georgia had an incredibly long road ahead being in the hospital.  On December 10, 2015 Georgia entered the gates of Heaven and was forever healed.  Her life on this Earth left quite an impression on many and brought them closer to our Heavenly Father.

One way Amber is honoring her life, is by creating this jewelry to help raise money for childhood cancer which affects so many.  The name "Anchor Beads" was derived from the Godwin's favorite verse that they have clung to since the day of Georgia's Leukemia diagnosis.  Hope Anchors the Soul... Hebrews 6:19. Georgia always said her favorite word was "Anchor."  10% of the proceeds will be given to Childhood Cancer Research in memory of Georgia.
